HERBS AND SPICES FIGHT WEIGHT LOSS

Many herbs and spices have been shown to fight cravings and promote fat-burning and weight loss.                             Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice revered for its flavor, bright color, and medicinal properties. Many of its health benefits are attributed to the presence of curcumin, a chemical that has been well-studied for its effects on everything from inflammation to weight loss.

A study conducted on 44 overweight people showed that using curcumin twice a day for one month was effective in increasing body fat, reducing belly fat, and increasing weight by 5%.

Similarly, animal studies found that supplementing mice with curcumin for 12 weeks reduced body weight and body fat by inhibiting fat synthesis.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a spice that comes from the inner bark of the Cinnamon tree. It is rich in antioxidants and offers many health benefits. Some studies have shown that cinnamon can increase weight gain. It is especially effective in stabilizing blood sugar, which can help reduce hunger and cravings.

Research shows that a compound found in cinnamon can mimic the effects of insulin, helping to transport sugar from the bloodstream into your cells to be used for fuel.

Cinnamon can also reduce the levels of certain digestive enzymes to slow down the breakdown of carbohydrates.

oregano

Oregano is a herb that belongs to the same family as mint, basil, thyme, rosemary, and sage.

It contains carvacrol, a powerful substance that can help promote weight loss. A study done on mice on a high-fat diet with or without carvacrol found that those given carvacrol gained less body weight and body fat than the control group.

Carvacrol supplements have also been found to affect certain genes and proteins that control fat synthesis in the body. Green coffee bean extract

Green coffee bean extract is commonly found in many weight loss supplements. It is made from unripe coffee beans and is rich in chlorogenic acid, which is believed to explain its potential weight loss effects.

A study found that green coffee reduces body mass index (BMI) and abdominal fat in 20 participants, although there is no change in calorie intake.

Ginger

Ginger is a spice derived from the rhizome of the flowering ginger plant, Zingiber officinale. Folk medicine is often used as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments, and some research shows that ginger can also help with death.

A 14-person study showed that ginger supplementation significantly reduced both body weight and belly fat

Fenugreek

Fenugreek is an aromatic herb derived from Trigonella foenum-graecum, a plant of the legume family.

Many studies have shown that fenugreek can help control appetite and reduce food intake to promote weight loss. A study conducted on 18 people showed that taking 8 grams of fenugreek fiber daily increased feelings of satiety and reduced appetite and food intake.
